PTA Officer Board Positions

President - Coordinates the work of officers and of committee chairs, presides over board and membership meetings. Attends LISD PTA Council meetings and events.
1st Vice President (Fundraising) - Serves as an aide to the president and presides over meetings in the absence of the president.  Oversees the fundraising goals put forth by the budget committee.  Fundraisers should reflect the high principles of the association.  Each event should have educational, social or recreational value.
2nd Vice President (Membership) - Builds an informed and participating membership by enrolling parents, teachers and interested citizens.  Oversees the membership drive and manages the member information and submissions.  
3rd Vice President (Communications) -   Manages social media, PTA Newsletters, email blasts, and a bulletin board to ensure that the school community is informed. 
Treasurer - Manages deposits and dispursments of PTA funds, has custody of the PTA funds and keeps books of accounts & financial records. Maintains detailed budget files, and financial reporting at all meetings of the association. 
Secretary - Records the meeting minutes of PTA board and general meetings. Maintains calendar of events for the PTA and creates meeting agendas for the President.

Programs -  Oversees scheduling and execution of the PTA sponsored projects/events. 
Parliamentarian - Assists the President at all meetings following the Roberts Rules of Order.  This is a great introductory role to the PTA and provides an interesting learning curve.


Standing Committee Chairs

Reflections - Coordinate the fall school-wide Reflections Art program. This is a PTA sponsored program meant to showcase students' many art forms, based on a yearly theme. Chair will also organize a ceremony at the end to recognize all participants.

Dance - The chair will work with the school to host one school dance. Duties include, purchasing snacks, beverages, and pizza, decorating (optional), using volunteers and school employees to sell ticketss, food, and to monitor students.
Book Fair - Coordinate one or two Scholastic Book Fairs in the library. Hang signs, arrange the book fair carts, sell books, and man the book fair during the week. 
Clothes Closet - Periodically gather clothes from school collection bins and from the Lost and Found, sort them for acceptable and unacceptable clothing donations, and take the clothing to the Clothes Closet building in Leander. Work at the Clothes Closet twice each year.
Volunteer Coordinator -  Works as a liaison between LISD, school staff and the PTA to match the volunteer job to the volunteer.  Recruits volunteers and provides orientation of school and district requirements.
Teacher Appreciation - Organizes staff appreciation events throughout the year, including Soup for the Souls lunch, Holiday Cookie Exchange, Love-a Latte, and the May Luncheon. Comes up with a list of needed food donations for each event and creates an online sign-up, sets up food and cleans up after the events with the help of volunteers.
Box Tops - Advertises to parents when they need to turn Box Tops in, collects the Box Tops, and submits them in the mail twice a year.
Spirit Nights - At the beginning of the school year, sets up recurring dine out nights with different restaurants (one restaurant takes a night from the first week of the month, another takes a day on the second week of the month, etc.) May need to set up yard signs at Henry the day of the spirit nights.
Inclusiveness - Makes sure that events are accessible and welcoming to all students and families.
LEEF Site Rep - Acts as a liaison with the LISD fundraising group, LEEF, to communicate to parents about LEEF fundraisers.
